Prime Video's drama 'It's Not Like That,' starring Scott Foley, has been canceled after a single season despite earning a 100% fresh score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and high marks from audiences. The 'Scandal' and 'The Unit' star announced the news in a video posted to Instagram.
"I have some sad news for everyone," Foley began in the video. "Amazon has decided not to renew 'It's Not Like That.' I'm hurt and confused. We got a 100% fresh score, our audience scores were fantastic. I can't quite make sense of why a second season didn't get greenlit, but that's just how streaming platforms operate these days."
In the eight-episode series, which premiered in March 2026, Foley played Malcolm, who overnight becomes the sole guardian of his thirteen-year-old stepson (Bodhi Sabongui) and six-year-old stepdaughter. The cast also included Jasmine Cephas Jones, Rachel Bay Jones, Alicia Silverstone, and Alfre Woodard.
The cancellation is being seen as one of the more striking examples of Prime Video's recent shift toward a strategy that doesn't prioritize critical success over commercial performance.
