Sam Levinson Talks "Euphoria" Season 3: Social Media Addiction and an "Unforgettable" Wedding

Sam Levinson, creator of HBO Max's much-discussed series 'Euphoria,' shared the first concrete details about the long-awaited third season at an event in London. According to the BBC, Levinson confirmed that the characters played by Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney will jump five years forward from Season 2.

"Five years felt natural to us," Levinson said, "because if they'd gone to college, they'd be graduating around now." This time jump allows the characters to move from the crises of adolescence into the more complex issues of adulthood — relationships, careers, and addiction.

Levinson also revealed that social media addiction will be a central theme in the new season: "Our characters' relationship with their phones has become more complicated than their relationship with each other." He also described a wedding scene taking place midway through the season as "unforgettable" — without revealing who's getting married.

Season 3 will premiere on HBO Max in fall 2026. It will be the first season filmed following the deaths of Eric Dane and Angus Cloud; the cast has been reported to add names such as Sharon Stone, Colman Domingo, and Kadeem Hardison.
