Battlefield 6, 2025's Best-Selling Game, Storms Onto Game Pass
One year after launch, EA's hit shooter joins Xbox Game Pass on October 13 — just in time for its Las Vegas–themed Season 5.

The first wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for October 2026 is here, and its headliner is a big one: Battlefield 6 is joining the subscription service for the first time, exactly one year after launch. Last year's best-selling game arrives on October 13, just in time for the start of its Las Vegas–themed Season 5.
The campaign was enjoyable if rough around the edges, but the core multiplayer — especially on the larger maps — remains stellar. It is also a curious moment to see the longtime rival of Call of Duty moving onto that franchise's home turf. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches this month too, promising a return to the series' roots, but due to Xbox's ongoing reset it will not arrive on Game Pass at launch.

The indies worth watching
Battlefield may be the headliner, but the month is stacked with intriguing indies. Echo Weaver is a time-loop metroidvania where knowledge from each run pushes you further on the next. Neon Abyss 2 is a cyberpunk action roguelike with online co-op for up to four players, while Chained Beasts is a co-op gladiator roguelike in which players fight through arenas while literally chained together. Forever Ago is a narrative adventure about how life does not always turn out the way you hoped.
Then there is Valor Mortis, a Napoleonic Wars Soulslike from the makers of Ghostrunner — a striking premise that will need its gameplay to stand apart from the long line of FromSoftware imitators.
