"Dead City" Season 3 Trailer: What Happened to Negan and Maggie?
A leaked scene from AMC's "The Walking Dead: Dead City" season 3 shows Negan, who once killed Maggie's husband Glenn, embracing a drunk Maggie in a bar. Fans can't quite stomach the hint of romance between the two.

AMC released a behind-the-scenes video for 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' season 3; but one moment, at the 3:45 mark, devastated fans: Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan and Lauren Cohan's Maggie, drunk, touch each other's faces in a bar.
Kotaku writer Kenneth Shepard writes that he left the main 'The Walking Dead' show after season 4, but that season 7's moment when Negan bludgeoned Maggie's husband Glenn to death remains a cultural memory even now. Now these two characters are leads on 'Dead City,' trying to survive together amid the post-apocalyptic ruins of Manhattan.
The real question for fans is this: even if a decade has passed and the characters have grown enormously, does Maggie drunkenly caressing the face of her husband's killer turn the story's credibility into "absurd fan fiction"? Twitter is split between "we're done for" and "the writers ruined the Rick-Negan friendship, and now Maggie's flirting with him at a bar." The new season premieres on AMC in fall 2026.
