'Alien: Earth' Season 2 Adds Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn

FX's Noah Hawley-led series 'Alien: Earth' has begun filming its second season in London. Three notable names have joined the cast: Emmy-winning comedian and actress Tracey Ullman; Sam Spruell, memorable for his role as the "sin eater" Ole Munch in 'Fargo's' fifth season; and Jerome Flynn, known from 'Game of Thrones' and the Yellowstone prequel '1923.'

The three newcomers join a returning cast that includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver, as well as the previously announced Peter Dinklage.

Spruell and Hawley have a history of collaboration, having worked together on 'Fargo's' fifth season. No details have been given yet about their roles in the new season.

Season one ended on a major cliffhanger. In an interview with THR after the finale, Hawley said, "This chapter has closed, but the Yutani forces are landing. The balance of power has shifted." Another key line was: "These kids have no idea what's coming for them." The theme Hawley points to for season two is how quickly season one's triumphant "Now we're in charge" moment could be threatened.

Quick notes on the cast. Ullman most recently guest-starred on CBS's 'Elsbeth' and will appear in the fourth season of 'Ted Lasso'; in recent years she's also appeared in 'Black Doves,' 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' and 'Mrs. America.' Spruell comes from HBO's 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.' Flynn is known for his filmography in 'Game of Thrones,' '1923,' and 'John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.'
