Elon Musk Keeps Melting Down Over "The Boys" Finale

Amazon Prime's superhero satire 'The Boys' wrapped its five-season run with an 8-episode final season — and in the finale, it took a direct shot at the world's richest man, in what Kotaku writer Ethan Gach called a show that "pries subtlety off with a crowbar."

A new character abruptly enters the story: Günter Van Ellis, the world's richest man, father of 17 children, an amateur astronaut who wears a black Homelander cap resembling Elon Musk's MAGA hat. He tells Homelander he's worried about "white fertility rates"; Homelander responds by taking him into space and leaving him there. The gag, lasting under a minute, is an unmistakable Musk parody.

Musk fired back on social media, calling the episode's finale "pathetic," then contradicted himself by adding that he "actually hadn't watched the show." Showrunner Erik Kripke replied, "I couldn't ask for a better review," while cast members like Antony Starr and Jack Quaid laughed it off on Instagram, effectively closing the story. Kotaku notes that amid Musk's racist remarks about the film 'The Odyssey,' this finale reaction has become just one more link in a chain of "meltdowns."
