System of a Down and Faith No More Return to Australia After a Decade

System of a Down is returning to Australia and New Zealand after more than ten years away. The band has confirmed a stadium tour for January and February 2027, with Faith No More joining as special guest.

The announcement followed a week of teasers rolled out in both countries. On Friday (July 24), murals bearing System of a Down's hand symbol appeared in Melbourne and Sydney; that same evening, Faith No More's logo was projected in lights in Brisbane.

The confirmed tour dates are as follows: Jan. 22 at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Jan. 27 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Feb. 1 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, and Feb. 7 at Hnry Stadium in Wellington.

The quartet — Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, and John Dolmayan — continue to fill some of the world's biggest stages despite not having released a new studio album. The band's last visit to the region dates back to the early 2010s, making this tour a long-awaited return for its fanbase in Oceania.

Faith No More's participation, led by Mike Patton, is a notable event in its own right: the pairing of two landmark alternative-metal bands on the same bill is being seen as one of the most striking festival-scale matchups in the region.
