Jay-Z's '4:44' Bonus Tracks Finally Land on All Digital Platforms
Three bonus tracks from Jay-Z's '4:44' album, including collaborations with Blue Ivy and James Blake, have reached listeners on all streaming services after nine years.
Jay-Z has finally made three bonus tracks from his '4:44' album available on all streaming services. Roc Nation confirmed the wide release on Instagram Tuesday, marking the exact ninth anniversary of '4:44''s original release.
The three songs, previously available only on Tidal — "Adnis," "Blue's Freestyle/We Family," featuring Jay's daughter Blue Ivy Carter, and "ManyFacedGod," featuring James Blake — can now be streamed anywhere in the world.
Released in 2017, '4:44' remains Jay-Z's most recent solo album (he released the joint album 'Everything Is Love' with Beyoncé a year later). The album, which featured contributions from Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, and Damian Marley, drew widespread acclaim for its introspective, vulnerable tone, particularly for Jay's apology for past infidelities.
The wide release of the bonus tracks is part of the ongoing "Jay-Z30" celebrations. As part of the festivities, the rapper headlined Philadelphia's Roots Picnic and announced two consecutive nights at Yankee Stadium in New York on July 10 and 11. On the first night, he'll perform 'Reasonable Doubt' in full; on the second, he'll perform 'The Blueprint' in its entirety to mark that album's 25th anniversary. He also partnered with the Brooklyn Public Library to release a limited run of library cards celebrating his 13 solo albums, and an eight-part documentary directed by Rick Rubin is set to premiere later this year.
