Iron Maiden Declares Paris Concert's General Admission Area Phone-Free

Iron Maiden is turning the standing area of its Monday (June 22) show in Paris into a phone-free zone, and it's been confirmed that the La Défense Arena performance will also be filmed for the upcoming Run For Your Lives Tour concert movie.

The band announced the policy via social media on Friday (June 19), sharing a graphic that walks through the use of lockable Yondr pouches, which have become the live-music industry's go-to solution for phone-free shows. Under the rules, ticket holders will place their phones in a Yondr pouch at the door, which will be unlocked at a designated exit point after the show.

Iron Maiden said that, for the concert film, they care not only about visual quality but also about capturing the audience experience undisturbed. The band's long-running Run For Your Lives Tour, part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, continues to play major arenas around the world, and the Paris show will sit at the center of the tour's visual archive.

Yondr pouches have become standard at many top-tier artists' shows in recent years, but Iron Maiden's decision has reignited debate within the metal community about how widely phone-free concert culture should take hold.
