Rush Postpones Two Shows After Geddy Lee Is Diagnosed With Laryngitis

Canadian rock legends Rush have been forced to postpone two shows on the Fort Worth leg of their long-awaited reunion tour. The band announced that frontman and bassist Geddy Lee has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis, and that his vocal cords need rest.

In a statement posted to social media, the band said, "We're following doctor's orders so Geddy can recover as quickly as possible and return to the stage at full strength." While the postponement is disappointing for what had been one of the most talked-about stops on the tour, all tickets will remain valid for the new dates. New times and dates will be announced in the coming days.

For Rush, the current tour marks a return to the stage following the long hiatus after drummer Neil Peart's death in 2020. With percussionist Anika Nilles stepping in for Peart, the trio has earned major critical praise for a setlist that pays tribute both to this new era and to their five-decade career.

While Geddy Lee's condition isn't considered serious, doctors are reportedly recommending several days of complete vocal rest. The band asked for fans' understanding, adding: "As soon as Geddy is recovered, he'll be back onstage, and we'll make up for every night we missed."
